Join New Jersey Citizen Action (NJCA), a statewide HUD-certified housing counseling agency, on Saturday, September 29, 2018 for a free informational first-time homebuyer seminar. This inspirational event will be held at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), located at 150 Bleeker Street, 2nd Floor Campus Center in Newark, NJ 07102 from 2:00pm-4:00pm (registration opens at 1:15pm). Speakers representing the thousands of women who have completed NJCA’s free HUD-certified loan counseling program and gone on to purchase their own piece of ‘The American Dream’ will describe their experiences, including the roadblocks they first encountered and the counseling process through which they finally attained homeownership. The event also features brief presentations on the homebuying process, common credit problems, fair housing and avoiding housing discrimination and predatory lending scams, and how to take advantage of affordable mortgage products and grants programs for low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers. Last year, more than 400 first-time homebuyers from across New Jersey attended the event. While the event is targeted to women, the seminar is open to all interested first-time homebuyers. Men are welcome too! To register, call Citizen Action at (973) 643-8800, ext 218, email Michelle Maas at firstname.lastname@example.org, or register online at www.njcitizenaction.org!
