“Marco Antonio Solis” has plenty to celebrate this year. The iconic Mexican singer is not only celebrating 40 years in the music industry, but in his highly-anticipated 2017 U.S. tour he will be joined in New York / New Jersey by El Mayimbe “Anthony Santos”. The show comes to Prudential Center on Saturday, September 9 and tickets go on-sale Friday, June 9 th at 10 A.M. The concert is set to commemorate four decades of musical hits from ‘El Poeta del Siglo,’ who throughout his career has garnered five Latin GRAMMYs and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Considered one of the greatest musical living legends in Latin America, Marco Antonio Solis was the winner of last year’s Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award. But that’s not the first time he’s been recognized by the glossy magazine. In 2010, Solis was named Billboard's Latin Artist of the Decade for his immense chart achievements, which include 30 record-breaking songs that have hit the top 10 of Hot Latin Songs. Other notable accolades include 2014’s Pop Male Artist of the Year by Premio Lo Nuestro and numerous awards by international festival Viña Del Mar, to name a few. With 18 studio albums, over 40 million album copies sold and over 300 songs to his name, “El Buki” will continue to be considered one of the most influential artists in Latin music. He is also the only Latin artist, to have 12 albums reach the No. 1 spot in Billboard's Top Albums chart. With over 20 studio albums, Santos' adoption of soft romantic lyrics was more socially accepted than the bawdy style common to bachata before him, and he shortly became the genre's leading artist, helping move bachata into the mainstream audience. Santos has helped define the sound of modern bachata, to include romantic music. He will delight his fans with his hit songs, “Yo Me Muero Por Ti”, “Voy Pa Lla”, “Cuanto Mas”, “Creiste”, and “Por Mi Timidez” among many others, in what promises to be an unforgettable evening.
