Eleven Clinton is the brain child of two individuals; Paul Profeta and Charles Hunter.
Mr. Profeta has long been a driving force in the renaissance that Newark is now undergoing. He wanted to bring back a true Jazz Supper Club, one that would pay homage to the city’s illustrious musical roots, and sought out a seasoned restaurateur to be the point person to make this dream come true.
Charles Hunter, an accomplished restaurateur from Harlem, was commissioned to flesh out the concept and to make this dream become a reality. He developed a simple, authentic concept that provides the kind of service that makes you feel at home, smothered with live Jazz. Great home-style food, great service, and great music.
Chef Dawn, a culinary genius and published author, has created a menu that combines the beloved flavors of southern-style comfort food with enticing spices and tastes of Caribbean cuisine, while prepared in a scratch kitchen with organic farm-to-table freshness.
The menu takes you from traditional fare to whimsical twists on food that your mother once cooked for you. We take Cajun spiced catfish and infuse it with Pico De Gallo and a Chipotle Mayo for good measure, what is delivered are some of the tastiest Cajun Catfish Tacos available anywhere. The Baby Back Ribs are dry rubbed and slow cooked for that tender to the touch, Smokey to the taste, succulent BBQ experience.
The venue boasts live Jazz every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on its windowed stage. Guests inside get to hear the melodic serenade of some of Newark's top Jazz bands while future guests are teased through the front window with a performance that is singularly unique.
Eleven Clinton is open for lunch and dinner through the work week and dinner and brunch on the weekends.
