The world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, will return to Prudential Center for KCON 2017 from June 23-24 with an expanded two-day schedule of concerts and activities. Celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, KCON 2016 will feature more vendors than ever before, plus all-new workshops and panels, including the rise in popularity of Korean beauty products, Korean food, and the world of e-sports, an industry in which South Korea produces many of the top competitors.
KCON 2016 adds to The Rock’s growing history of successful Asian programming, including previous shows with BIGBANG, 2NE1, god, G.E.M. and EXO. Last year’s KCON 2015 stop at Prudential Center welcomed over 17,000 fans for a one-day experience featuring performances by Girls Generation, VIXX, AOA and Teen Top.
In 2011, Ailee first received recognition during her performance with Wheesung on MBC's Chuseok special episode of "Singer and Trainee." Ailee's stage presence was immediately felt by the audience, who was amazed by her talent given she had not officially debuted yet. SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) is a thirteen-member band formed byPledis Entertainment. The team consists of three units: the hip hop unit (S.coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon), the vocal unit (Jeonghan, Joshua, Woozi, DK, Seungkwan), and theperformance unit (Jun, Hoshi, THE8, Dino).
SEVENTEEN gained fame on the livestreamed show “17TV,”which was followed by the reality show “Seventeen Project: Debut Big Plan.” SEVENTEEN is the first group in K-Pop history to hold a live debut showcase.
MAMAMOO is a girl group composed of four female members: Solar, MoonByul, WheeIn and HwaSa. They debuted in 2014 with the song “Mr. Ambiguous” and that same year, received awards at the SEOUL SUCCESS AWARDS and Gaon Chart’s K-POP AWARDS.
In 2015, the band was selected by Billboard as one of the “Top 5 K-Pop Artists to Watch.”
MAMAMOO’s first full-length album “Melting” dropped in February 2016. The band is managed by Rainbow Bridge World.
BTS (also known as Bangtan Boys consists of Rap Monster 랩몬스터, SUGA 슈가, Jin 진, J-hope 제이홉, Jimin 지민, V 뷔, Jung Kook 정국 debuted in 2013, and has shown remarkable growth and success as the next generation of K-POP boy groups. They’re leading the Korean wave in the music market not only in Korea but also Japan, Asia and all over the world.
