About Us: Have You Met Newark? LLC was founded in 2012 by Emily Manz and Antonio Valla. Both residents of Newark, each has a deep love for the city’s history, present, and future and bring insights and fun to their tour. Manz, a 2010 grad of the University of Delaware, and a 2011 MA grad of Central European University, moved to NJ for her MA in City & Regional Planning at Rutgers in 2011. Moving to Newark in 2012 to work in economic development, she now lives in the Central Ward and works in consulting. Valla, a 2005 BA graduate of Dartmouth, and a 2008 MA graduate of Harvard, moved to Newark’s Ironbound in 2012 to work in real estate and development. Both serve on a variety of boards in Newark.
