Kick It In Newark
FIFA World Cup 2026™ | June 11 to July 19, 2026
Come for the games. Stay for Newark.
While the matches aren’t in Newark, our city, as New Jersey’s largest city and a major transportation hub, provides one of the most culturally-rich destinations in the region. Whether you're arriving from across the globe or just across the state, we invite you to kick it in Newark for FIFA World Cup 2026™.
A True Sports City With Deep Roots.
You can probably name the teams that have represented Newark, past and present, from our hockey champions, the NJ Devils, to the New York Sirens of the PWHL playing at Prudential Center, and the Newark Bears, our hometown heroes of the past. While Newark is widely known for its arts and culture, our city also has a deep-rooted love for sports, particularly soccer.
From the historic Ironbound Soccer Club, a proud MLS NEXT member that continues to develop local and international talent, to St. Benedict's Prep Boys Soccer team, recognized as one of the top high school programs in the United States.
Just a short ride across the river, the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer and Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League call Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison home.
There’s always something to do in Newark!
Every summer in Newark is festival season, and this FIFA World Cup 2026™ summer is no exception! Join us for our annual events like North2Shore, Restaurant Week, and Newark PRIDE, and experience our special FIFA World Cup 2026™ fan activations and city-wide celebrations.
