{LIPS} features monthly exhibitions, as well as pop-up spoken word events, readings, film screenings, theatre and music performances, that reflect and showcase the contemporary female experience. Varied works conceived and produced at {LIPS} will be exhibited at the gallery space as well as site specific locations, such as community organizations and centers, universities, high schools, middle schools, museums, theaters, shelters, nursing homes, train stations platforms, loading docks, factories, underutilized spaces, and store fronts. {LIPS} outreach components include constituents of partnering organizations and residents of Newark, students, community partners, workplaces, and daily visitors who pass through Gateway Center and Newark Pennstation year round. Artistic programs are based out of Newark, New Jersey and extend to other urban and rural areas. Housed on the main level of Newark's Gateway Project Spaces located in the Two Gateway Center. Both {LIPS} and Gateway Project Spaces share a commitment of improving the quality of life of their communities through arts engagement.
